To gain the maximum benefit of allbed we recommend it be laid to a depth of at least 6 inches. This will ensure you get full advantage
of the excellent drainage qualities and ensures that the top of
the bed remains dryer.
1. Remove all existing bedding from the stable taking care to
remove all dust as well.
2. Add the allbed to the stable, to a depth of at least 6 inches.
3. Level with a shavings fork, adding extra to the sides if a
bank is required.

1. Droppings should be removed daily either by hand using gloves or with a 10 prong fork (Open prong forks are available from allbed) taking care to lift as little allbed as possible.
2. Using a fork level the bed to ensure an even depth
as horses and ponies will sometimes move the bedding around.
3. Wet patches will eventually have to be removed, as the moisture
drains to the bottom of the bed keeping the top layers dryer,
when removing wet patches we recommend you scrape the dryer bedding
to the side, lift the wet patches then spread the dryer allbed
over the stable floor again. This will ensure you get maximum
benefit and coverage from allbed.
4. The bed should be topped up as necessary to maintain the depth
of the bed to at least six inches. This is normally required around
once a week, though in a well-drained stable it will last much
longer.
5. Using allbed will mean a smaller muckheap compared with shavings or straw and it does not blow around, keeping the stable yard tidier. allbed breaks down and composts naturally.
